STH visits Kwun Tong (with photos)

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, visited Kwun Tong this afternoon (August 22) to update himself on the latest developments in the district.

     Accompanied by the Chairman of the Kwun Tong District Council, Dr Bunny Chan, and the District Officer (Kwun Tong), Mr Steve Tse, Mr Chan visited a redevelopment project of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) at Yuet Wah Street, Kwun Tong, to learn about the traffic conditions in the vicinity.

     Mr Chan then went to Kwun Tong MTR Station where he was briefed on the interface of the station with the URA’s redevelopment plan in the district. Afterwards, he travelled on the MTR to Lam Tin Station to see the barrier-free facilities and para-transit service.

     For the last leg of his district visit, Mr Chan met with Kwun Tong District Councillors to listen to their views on local needs and concerns.

The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan (third right), was briefed by MTR staff on the trial scheme of the free para-transit service for wheelchair-bound passengers during his visit to Kwun Tong today (August 22). He was joined by the Chairman of the Kwun Tong District Council, Dr Bunny Chan (fourth right), and the Operations Director of the MTR Corporation Limited, Mr Adi Lau (first left).
