"Hong Kong 2016" on sale at Book Fair (with photo)
**************************************************
The publication is an invaluable source of information about Hong Kong, covering government policy and activities along with an overview of life and developments in 2016.
There is also a wealth of facts and figures, including more than 40 statistical tables and a map on the inside back cover showing land use in the territory.
The 22 chapters feature details of Hong Kong's constitution and legal system, history, financial and monetary affairs, health, housing and environmental hygiene, among many other topics. A new chapter starting from this edition reports on the Government's policies and progress in innovation and technology.
On the front cover is T·Park in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong's first self-sustained sludge treatment facility. T·Park incinerates dewatered sewage sludge from sewage treatment plants, hence reducing by 90 per cent the volume of such waste to be disposed of at landfills. As a waste-to-energy facility, it also generates electricity for on-site operational needs and exports surplus electricity to the public power grid.
Apart from the front cover, this edition offers 13 photo sections comprising 128 images of events, people and places in Hong Kong.
The English and Chinese editions of "Hong Kong 2016" and about 100 other government titles, CDs, VCDs, DVDs will be on sale at the Information Services Department booth (stall B38 in Hall 1B, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre) during the Hong Kong Book Fair from tomorrow to July 25.
To help save the environment, plastic bags will not be handed out at the booth. Purchasers are asked to bring their own bags.
