Temporary traffic and transport arrangements for tram track renewal works in Western District from next Monday

The temporary traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:
Temporary traffic arrangements

* The northern kerbside lane of Des Voeux Road West from a point about 20 metres west of its junction with Ka On Street to a point about 90m west of the same junction will be temporarily designated as a restricted zone 24 hours a day;
* The northern kerbside lane of Des Voeux Road West from a point about 35m east of its junction with Ka On Street to a point about 50m east of the same junction will be temporarily designated as a restricted zone 24 hours a day;
* The southern kerbside lane of Des Voeux Road West from a point about 15m west of its junction with Ka On Street to a point about 40m west of the same junction will be temporarily designated as a restricted zone 24 hours a day;
* The offside lane of Ka On Street from a point about 10m north of its junction with Des Voeux Road West to a point about 25m north of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicles;
* The offside lane of Des Voeux Road West eastbound from its junction with Ka On Street to a point about 40m west of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicles (except trams); and
* The offside lane of Des Voeux Road West westbound from a point about 20m east of its junction with Ka On Street to a point about 30m west of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicles (except trams).
Temporary transport arrangements

* The bus stops of Citybus route A12 and New World First Bus routes 18P and 18X on Des Voeux Road West eastbound outside Upton will be temporarily relocated about 90m eastward outside Kwan Yick Building Phase II; and
* The bus stops of Citybus routes 1, 5B, 5P, 10, 43M and 43P on Des Voeux Road West eastbound outside Upton will be temporarily relocated about 45m westward outside Fung Yip Building.
Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary transport arrangements.
The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. The public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
