The Force has been adopting a proactive recruitment strategy to attract high calibre candidates who possess the required competencies to serve. A series of recruitment activities, such as Recruitment Days, are launched on an annual basis to reach out to potential candidates.
The Recruitment Day provides one-stop service to applicants, including initial screening and scheduling of written examination for Probationary Inspector candidates; initial screening and group interview for Recruit Police Constable candidates; and initial screening and seminar for Police Constable (Auxiliary) candidates.
Upon completion of the selection process, successful Probationary Inspector and Recruit Police Constable applicants will undergo training at the Police College, whereas successful Police Constable (Auxiliary) applicants will undergo training at the Auxiliary Police Headquarters.
The recruitment target in the financial year 2015-16 had been achieved. In the financial year 2016-17, the Force aims to recruit 1,540 police officers, comprising 190 Probationary Inspectors and 1,350 Recruit Police Constables, while the Auxiliary Police Force aims to recruit 320 Police Constables (Auxiliary).
Police will continue to regularly organise recruitment events. The next major event will be the Recruitment Day (Autumn) to be held on October 29 at Police Headquarters.
Applications for the posts of Probationary Inspector, Recruit Police Constable and Police Constable (Auxiliary) are accepted year-round, those who endeavour to become police officers are welcome to apply. Applicants can complete the application form at Police website or mail the completed form to the Police Recruitment Division.
