The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (November 8) obtained four orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at around $870,000 against four employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued four judgments against four employers - Bright Charter (Hong Kong) Limited trading as Tung Lok Hin, Legendfield Limited trading as Wong Shing Seafood Hot Pot Restaurant, China Smartly Limited trading as Hoi Fai Seafood Hot Pot Restaurant and Tang Hung trading as Tang Hung Kee Bamboo Scaffolding Co.
The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $385,931.39, $265,986.92, $123,970.75 and $100,407.81, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 48, 68, 38 and 2 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payments of $930 as the costs for each of the cases.
