Final voter turnout for Central and Western District Council by-election (with photos)

     At the close of polling at 10.30pm today (November 26), 1 780 of the 5 327 registered electors (33.41 per cent) of the Peak Constituency and 1 973 of the 5 084 registered electors (38.81 per cent) of the Tung Wah Constituency had cast their votes in the Central and Western District Council by-election. (The voter turnout figures are only for temporary reference.)

     The two polling stations for the Peak Constituency are located at Hong Kong Park Sports Centre and German Swiss International School Peak Campus. The two polling stations for the Tung Wah Constituency are located at SKH St. Matthew’s Primary School and King’s College Old Boys’ Association Primary School. These four polling stations opened from 7.30am to 10.30pm.

     The dedicated polling station at Happy Valley Police Station also opened from 7.30am to 10.30pm. It was set up for electors of the Peak Constituency or the Tung Wah Constituency remanded or detained by law enforcement agencies other than the Correctional Services Department (CSD) to cast their ballots.

     Three dedicated polling stations were also set up at penal institutions for electors of the Peak Constituency or the Tung Wah Constituency who are imprisoned or remanded in the CSD's custody to cast their votes at their respective penal institutions. For security reasons, the polling hours were from 9am to 4pm.
