About 3 400 vacancies on offer at Tsuen Wan Job Fair

     The Labour Department will hold a large-scale two-day job fair at Tsuen Wan Town Hall on September 28 and 29. Vacancies in retail, catering, property management and other industries will be offered. Twenty-eight participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.

     A total of 56 organisations, offering about 3 400 vacancies, will participate in the fair. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as clerk, cinema service assistant, shop assistant, registered Chinese medicine practitioner, health service assistant, security guard, driver, storekeeper, waiter/waitress, chef, technician, cashier and more. Job seekers can find more vacancy information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

     Around 81 per cent of the vacancies are for full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $16,000. About 98 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 69 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant work experience.

     Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also make enquiries on employment services at the Labour Department's counter.

     The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tsuen Wan Town Hall, 72 Tai Ho Road, Tsuen Wan. Admission is free.
