CS visits Efficiency Unit (with photos)

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, visited the Efficiency Unit (EU) today (September 15) to learn more about the work of the EU and meet with its staff.

     Mr Cheung started the visit at the EU Office at Revenue Tower, Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, by meeting with the Head of the EU, Mr Kim Salkeld, and the senior staff.  He was briefed on the work of the Unit and the Management Services Officer Grade as well as the challenges staff have been facing.

     Mr Cheung then toured the office and received briefings on the work undertaken by the EU, including management of the Youth Portal and services provided to government departments in organisational review, reform implementation and application of new technology to enhance productivity and improve service quality.

     During the visit, Mr Cheung chatted with staff of the Unit to gain a better understanding of their daily work. He encouraged them to continue making joint efforts to provide internal management consultancy services for the Government, drive cross-departmental initiatives and help to experiment and incubate new services and practices.
