Ancient Egypt exhibition, dragon boat races and sports carnival among HKSAR 20th anniversary celebration events (with photos)

The exhibition "Eternal Life - Exploring Ancient Egypt" will be held from June 2 to October 18 at the Hong Kong Science Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The exhibition will display six Egyptian mummies and a further 200 invaluable objects, with highlights including the mummy and inner coffin of Nestawedjat and the Statue of Khonsirdis. Visitors will also be able to learn about the ancient Egyptian society through 3D projection mapping, virtual reality and holograms.
The exhibition will be closed on Thursdays except public holidays. Admission fees are as follows:

A number of dragon boat races will be held in various districts in Hong Kong on May 30 (Tuesday) during the Tuen Ng Festival to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.
Dragon boat races will take place in Aberdeen, Tai Po, Sha Tin, Cheung Chau, Tuen Mun, Tap Mun and Sai Kung.
The Sha Tin Dragon Boat Race attracts a great number of participating teams and has become not only a major event in Sha Tin District, but also one of the largest dragon boat races in the territory.
A special Celebration for 20th Anniversary of HKSAR Cup will be presented at the dragon boat competition in Tap Mun to mark the eventful year.
Apart from hosting traditional dragon boat races, the Sai Kung District Dragon Boat Racing Gala will also feature a carnival for residents and tourists to celebrate the Tuen Ng Festival and the 20th anniversary.
Members of the public are welcome to watch the exciting competitions and cheer on the athletes. The locations of dragon boat races in various districts are as follows:

Dragon boat fans can also enjoy boat races, cheering and fun alongside thousands of spectators at the three-day Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival to be held at the Central Harbourfront from June 2 to 4 (Friday to Sunday).
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, the 2017 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival will have the largest number of international teams and athletes ever. Over 5 000 athletes from 12 countries and regions will battle for a total of 27 championships, and for the first time 14 food trucks will gather in the same place, presenting local delicacies to the public. Admission is free.

A sports carnival will be held on June 3 (Saturday) from 10am to 9pm and June 4 (Sunday) from 10am to 6pm at Kowloon Park in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, the Samsung 60th Festival of Sport - Carnival cum Closing Ceremony will feature mini-competitions of basketball and table tennis, sports demonstrations and performances, sports trials, game booths and more. People of all ages are encouraged to participate in various sports activities at the carnival.
This is a free walk-in event. Participants are reminded to wear comfortable clothing and sports shoes and to carry drinking water. For more information, please visit fos.hkolympic.org/en.

To share the joy of the 20th anniversary, the HKSAR Government is joining hands with different sectors to organise a wide variety of activities and events under the theme "Together · Progress · Opportunity".
Altogether, more than 600 events and activities will be staged by the Government and different sectors until the end of 2017.
