Opening hours extended to 8pm for last two days of toy exhibition
*****************************************************************
The "The Legend of Hong Kong Toys" exhibition now being held at the Hong Kong Museum of History has been well received by the public. To allow more visitors to see the more than 2 600 toy exhibits of different eras, the museum will extend the opening hours to 8pm on May 14 and 15 (Sunday and Monday), the last two days of the exhibition.

Since opening on March 2, the exhibition has received more than 300 000 visitors with an average daily attendance of about 5 000 visitors, a new average daily attendance record for thematic exhibitions held at the museum.

The spokesperson for the Hong Kong Museum of History today (May 5) said, "As the exhibition will close on May 15, the public who are interested should take this final opportunity to visit it before closing. Visitors are advised to plan their visit arrangements ahead and see the exhibition on weekdays or in the morning, or after 5pm during weekends, to avoid overcrowding during peak hours."

The exhibition is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Hong Kong Toys Council and the Toys Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, and jointly organised by the Hong Kong Museum of History, the Hong Kong Toys Council and the Toys Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong. It is one of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Over 2 600 toys new and old which are familiar to Hong Kong people or made locally are being displayed, enabling the public to learn about toy trends and the social landscapes of different eras.

The Hong Kong Museum of History is located at 100 Chatham Road South. For details of the Museum's normal opening hours and the exhibition's related programmes, please visit the website at hk.history.museum/en_US/web/mh/exhibition/current.html, or call 2724 9042 for enquiries.
