"Hong Kong eRouting" mobile application updated to include road works information (with photos)

     The Transport Department (TD) announced today (April 21) that an updated version of the "Hong Kong eRouting" mobile application has been launched with a new function included to inform motorists in advance of lane closures for some planned road maintenance works with a view to enhancing road safety.

     Using the new function "Road Works Information" of the "Hong Kong eRouting" mobile application, motorists can obtain information on the date, estimated time, duration, approximate locations and affected traffic lanes of the Highways Department's planned road maintenance works involving lane closure on roads with a speed limit of 70 kilometres per hour or above.

     The current "Route Search" function of the mobile application will also display a "road works" icon to alert motorists in advance of lane closures on their planned driving route. Motorists are reminded that they should drive carefully and follow the temporary traffic signs on site when approaching the closed road sections.

     Updated versions of "Hong Kong eRouting" for iPhone and Android are now available for free download. Members of the public can also scan the attached QR code or download the mobile application through the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk).
