Special stamp issue: Hong Kong Museums Collection - Pencil Drawings by Mr Kong Kai-ming (with photos)

Mr Kong Kai-ming is an acclaimed artist and educator known for his dedication to and accomplishments in art. Having published more than 60 volumes of art books over the past six decades, Mr Kong has made a profound contribution to local art and art education.
Conversant with a wide range of media including fountain pens and pencil sketching, watercolours, oil paints and print-making, Mr Kong is particularly famous for his portrait and landscape sketches. Over the years, he has captured numerous streetscapes in Hong Kong in the finest detail. His compositions are not only works of art, but also records of Hong Kong's urban transformation.
With intaglio printing to highlight the meticulous details of the original artwork, this fourth set of special stamps in the Hong Kong Museums Collection series issued by Hongkong Post features seven pencil drawings by Mr Kong of local streetscapes across the territory during the 1980s and 1990s, namely Hung Hom Airport Tunnel, Argyle Street in Mong Kok, Kwun Tong MTR station, Wan Chai tram depot, Canton Road, and the Zoroastrian Church in Causeway Bay and Aberdeen.
Official First Day Covers will be on sale at $1.20 each at all post offices from tomorrow (November 22). The stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from November 22 to 28.
