Candidate forum for HKADC Nomination Exercise this Saturday

     The exercise of the nomination of representatives of arts interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) has entered into the final stage of electioneering. To enable voters to learn more about the candidates of the six contested arts interests, a forum will be held for candidates to present their election platforms and to answer questions from voters. Thirteen candidates standing for nomination will participate in the forum. Interested parties are welcome to attend.

     The candidate forum will be held from 1pm to 4.30pm this Saturday (November 5) at Mong Kok Community Hall, L2, Mong Kok Complex, 557 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok. Candidate forum sessions for the six contested arts interests (Arts Administration, Dance, Drama, Literary Arts, Music and Visual Arts) will be held as follows:

1pm to 1.30pm         Arts Administration
1.30pm to 2pm         Drama
2.05pm to 2.35pm      Literary Arts
2.40pm to 3.10pm      Visual Arts
3.15pm to 3.45pm      Music
3.50pm to 4.30pm      Dance

     Each session of the forum will include: (1) presentation of candidate platforms; (2) candidates answering questions from the floor; and (3) debate among the candidates of the respective arts interests.

     Polling is scheduled for November 27 and 28. Cross-arts interest voting will continue to be adopted this year. Voters from the 10 arts interests may cast votes for candidates standing for nomination in each of the six contested arts interests. A list of the nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term beginning January 1, 2017.
