SCED to attend 1st ASEAN Economic Ministers - Hong Kong, China Consultations in Laos

Mr So and the participating ASEAN economic ministers will discuss the progress and target of the Hong Kong, China - ASEAN Free Trade Agreement negotiations at the 1st AEM-HKC Consultations on August 6. He will host the opening dinner of the 13th ALF on the same day and speak on "China - Hong Kong - ASEAN Partnership: Growing Together for Shared Prosperity" at the Forum on August 7.
Mr So will have bilateral meetings with the economic ministers of various ASEAN member states to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr So will also attend the gala dinner of the 48th ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting. He will meet with the Chinese Ambassador to Laos, Mr Guan Huabing, and representatives of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and the Lao Chinese Chamber of Commerce, as well as Hong Kong people in Laos.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong on August 8. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
