Security Bureau launches mobile application "Safeguard HK" (with photos)

     The Security Bureau has launched the "Safeguard HK" mobile app. The mobile app serves as a one-stop platform providing useful information on safety during travel and daily life.

     To assist members of the public in getting the latest information, "Safeguard HK" will provide instant updates on Outbound Travel Alerts, events of major emergency incidents and more through push notifications.

     It covers various categories of useful information including:

* instant updates on Outbound Travel Alerts;
* contact information of Chinese Embassies and Consulates;
* information on controlled and prohibited articles for export and import;
* land boundary control point waiting times;
* first aid procedures;
* electronic tools for emergency SOS calls;
* emergency rescue helplines;
* locations of nearby police stations, Accident and Emergency Departments, general out-patient clinics, country park first aid stations and help stations for emergencies; and
* information on prevalent crime and scam prevention advice.

     This mobile app also provides basic information and the latest news of the Security Bureau and its eight departments, namely the Correctional Services Department, the Customs and Excise Department, the Fire Services Department, the Government Flying Service, the Hong Kong Police Force, the Immigration Department, the Auxiliary Medical Service and the Civil Aid Service.

     Members of the public are welcome to browse "Safeguard HK" from time to time for updates on the recruitment and public activities of the departments.
