Transcript of remarks by CE and S for S at media session (with video)
*********************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung and the Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, at a media session before the Executive Council meeting today (March 1):

Reporter: Mr Chief Executive, it's been reported that Mr Lee has requested the Government to stop providing assistance to him in this case. So, whatĄŻs your reaction to that? And secondly, given Mr Lee is, he left Hong Kong and entered Mainland China by his own means, has that undermined the current border control between the two regions?

Chief Executive: IĄŻll take the first question, and IĄŻll ask the Secretary for Security to take the second question.

Soon after the report was made by Mr Lee's wife, she actually withdrew the case, but the Hong Kong Police and other parts of the Hong Kong Government continued the investigation into Mr Lee's case. And it really underlined the importance that the Hong Kong Government as a whole and the police in particular attached to this case.

    The second question.

Secretary for Security: Of course the Police and the Immigration Department will follow up the issue of how Mr Lee left Hong Kong by his own means.
