Police work showcased at Careers Expo (with photos)

     The Police showcased the multi-faceted and professional nature of their work under the theme "Serve and Protect our Hong Kong, Join Us" at the four-day Education and Careers Expo 2016 starting today (January 28).

     Officers from Police Dog Unit, Identification Bureau, Narcotics Bureau and Police Negotiation Cadre introduced to visitors their areas of work and equipment at different sessions today. The latest Police recruitment information is also available at the booth.

     Demonstration sessions of Police units in the following three days are as follows:

January 29 (Friday):
10.30am to 2.30pm - Police College, Force Abseiling Cadre
2.30pm to 7pm - Traffic Branch, Marine Police

January 30 (Saturday):
10.30am to 2.30pm - Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Emergency Unit
2.30pm to 7pm - Police Dog Unit, Identification Bureau, Force Search Unit

January 31 (Sunday):
10.30am to 2.30pm - Airport Security Unit, Crime Prevention Bureau*
1pm to 6pm - Crime Prevention Bureau*, Counter Terrorism Response Unit
(The ¡°RobotCop¡± will be displayed from 1pm to 6pm.)

     Members of the public are welcome to visit the Police booth at the expo held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 10.30am to 7pm from January 28 to 30, and from 10.30am to 6pm on January 31. Admission is free.

     Those who are interested to join the Force can apply at the Police booth in person. They are reminded to bring along the proof of academic qualifications (original and duplicate). The applicants will undergo on-site initial screening, including height and weight measurements, eyesight test and verification of academic qualifications.

     Police will organise the Recruitment Day (Winter) at Police Headquarters on the last day of the expo period, i.e. January 31. Applicants who have passed the initial screening on the first two days of the expo will be invited to attend the Recruitment Day to undergo other selection procedures, such as group interview for Recruit Police Constable applicants.
