To publicise the message of keeping Hong Kong clean and remind members of the public of the importance of keeping personal and environmental hygiene, the "Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home" - Wong Tai Sin District Cleanup Day cum Bus Parade was held today (August 14) by the Wong Tai Sin District Office (WTSDO).
The Under Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Florence Hui; the Chairman of the Wong Tai Sin District Council (WTSDC), Mr Li Tak-hong; the Vice Chairman of the WTSDC, Dr Wong Kam-chiu; the Chairman of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Committee under the WTSDC, Mr Ho Hon-man; and the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Mrs Angel Choi, participated in the bus parade. They also took part in the estate clean-up day organised by the Incorporated Owners of Chuk Yuen (North) Estate. They carried out cleaning work at lift lobby and public areas of the estate together with the members of the Incorporated Owners to encourage residents to take part in the clean-up campaign.
After setting off this morning, the bus parade passed by various places in the district, which included Mei Tung Estate, MTR Lok Fu Station, Choi Wan St Joseph's Primary School, Choi Hung Estate, Rhythm Garden, Fu Shan Estate, MTR Diamond Hill Station, Yin Hing Street, Yuk Wah Crescent and Lower Wong Tai Sin (II) Estate. Participating guests together with members of the WTSDC, Wong Tai Sin area committees and the Wong Tai Sin District Youth Development Network distributed personal hygiene packs and household cleaning packs to members of the public to encourage them to nurture a habit of good hygiene practices.
The event was organised by the WTSDO, co-organised by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and supported by the WTSDC, area committees, various mutual aid committees and owners' corporations.
