The Labour Department will hold a large-scale three-day job fair at Tuen Mun Town Hall from July 21 to 23. The first day of the recruitment event will focus on vacancies in the retail industry, while on July 22 and 23 the job fair will offer vacancies in catering, property management, real estate and other industries. Twenty participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.
A total of 60 organisations offering about 4 200 vacancies will participate in the job fair. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as clerk, receptionist, beautician, health worker, barista, waiter/waitress, shop sales, kitchen staff, technician, security guard, driver, warehouse assistant and cleaner and more. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Around 81 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $15,000. About 98 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 71 per cent are open to job seekers who may lack relevant experience and are suitable for young people and secondary school graduates.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services at the Labour Department's counter.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tuen Mun Town Hall, 3 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun. Admission is free.
