The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) held meetings today (November 27) with members of the Wong Tai Sin District Council (DC) and the Central and Western DC respectively in Conference Room 1 and Conference Room 2 of the LegCo Complex to discuss and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting with the Wong Tai Sin DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: redevelopment of Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital and improvement of healthcare services and facilities in Wong Tai Sin; review of income and assets declarations and reintroduction of the sale of public rental housing units; and the "Universal Accessibility" Programme. The meeting was convened by Ms Chan Yuen-han and attended by Mr Chan Kam-lam, Mr Abraham Shek, Mr Frederick Fung, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Chan Kin-por, Mr Wong Kwok-kin, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Alan Leong, Mr Wu Chi-wai, Mr Ma Fung-kwok and Dr Lo Wai-kwok.
As for the meeting with the Central and Western DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: disruption to traffic caused by assemblies triggered by political/social movements; the proposed Pound Lane escalator project; nuisances caused by liquor-licensed premises in the district; the proposed provision of housing in Western District and urban planning of Kennedy Town; and constitutional development. The meeting was convened by Mrs Regina Ip Lau and attended by Mr Vincent Fang, Mr Wong Kwok-hing, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Ng Leung-sing, Mr Yiu Si-wing, Mr Kwok Wai-keung, Mr Christopher Cheung and Mr Martin Liao.
