Following is a transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, to the media after visiting Tai Hom Village today (December 18):
Reporter: Mr So, what do you think about this project?
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I have just indicated earlier, today I am here in response to an invitation by legislator Hon Chan Yuen-han with various other professionals to introduce to me the ideas of how to develop this area. I believe that it was quite innovative and creative in the way that they scheduled this meeting, situated in an industrial building looking over the old area, and to have a very concrete proposal presented in respect to the development of this area. I have also indicated that the Planning Department would soon present the development plan of this comprehensive development area to the Wong Tai Sin District Council for consultation. If any of these proposals presented today relates to any area under the purview of the Commerce and Economic Development (Bureau), today's visit will for sure be instrumental in accessing these proposals from various angles.
