The two-day auction for stalls at the 2012 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair concluded smoothly today (November 10). The total revenue was $9,105,610, compared with $9,879,020 last year.
A total of 448 stalls at the Fair, including 269 for dry goods, 168 for wet goods, eight for thematic dry goods and three for fast food, were successfully let out during the open auction at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
The successful bids of the eight thematic dry goods stalls ranged from $54,000 to $72,000, with an average at $67,125, against an opening price of $32,260.
For the dry goods stalls, the successful bid prices ranged from $11,020 to $150,500, which averaged out to $22,800, about 2 times of the opening price of $11,020.
Today's auction attracted around 1,700 participants.
Auctions for stalls at the four Lunar New Year fairs in Kowloon will start next Monday (November 14) at the same venue.
