Musical "Let's Rock" to feature popular songs and drama by James Wong
***********************************************************

"Let's Rock", a musical by Spring-Time Experimental Theatre featuring songs and drama by renowned pop talent James Wong, will be staged in November.

The play is inspired by the film "Let's Rock", made by The Wynners in 1975, with screenplay, music score and directing by James Wong. Many of the songs originally scored for the film are included, such as "L-O-V-E Love", "Money Is Everything", "Why Holding Hands?", "I Am So Lonesome Tonight". Also featured are the group's big hits and household tunes by James Wong, such as "Friends", "It Won't Change in a Thousand Years", "A Love Affair", "It's Not By Chance We Meet", "The Love Suite", "Let It All Sail Away with the Wind" and "After 80". With its catchy tunes and suave dance routines typical of the 70s, the show promises to be great fun to watch.

The play follows the story of five young men who share a passion for music and get together to form a band. Hon, the owner of the school tuck shop who has nothing but moneymaking in mind, sees in them a lucrative possibility.  He proposes to be their manager and vows to make them stars. Although each of the five have typical problems to face - study, family and love - their passion for music launches them on the road to success, and the band's name, THE WINNERS, has stayed prominent for 35 years in Hong Kong's Cantopop hall of fame.

A strong team includes producer Clifton Ko, director Garrick Wong, and actors and actresses Zac Koo, Ursule Wong, Sharco Kang, Mike Wong, Angus Chan, Lo Cheuk On and Billy Yip.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), "Let's Rock" will be performed in Cantonese by Spring-Time Experimental Theatre at 8pm, on November 4 and 5 (Friday and Saturday); and at 3pm, on November 5 (Saturday) at the Auditorium, Yuen Long Theatre.
