Free tickets for "Sha Tin Festival - Jockey Club FAMILY 3Hs Fun Fest"

The following is issued on behalf of the Sha Tin District Office:

     The "Sha Tin Festival - Jockey Club FAMILY 3Hs Fun Fest" will be held at Sha Tin Sports Ground from December 25 to 27. A total of 10,000 free admission tickets will be distributed to members of the public from tomorrow (December 10).

     The first of its kind in Sha Tin, the three-day carnival aims to promote the "FAMILY 3Hs" (health, happiness and harmony) through a variety of fun games including war-games, Wii, wall-climbing and horse-riding activities. A police band, jazz band, magic and clown performances as well as free snacks and gifts will also be available.

     The Under Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Gabriel Leung; Sha Tin District Officer, Mrs Do Pang Wai-yee; Sha Tin District Council Chairman, Mr Wai Kwok-hung; and Charities of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Director, Mr Douglas So, will officiate at the opening ceremony at 11am on December 25.

                 8.45am-1pm and 2pm-6pm

     Free tickets will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. Each person can collect a maximum of four tickets. For enquiries, please contact the Sha Tin District Office at 2158 5382.

     Themed "Harmonious Family", the 2010/2011 Sha Tin Festival is being held from September 22, 2010, to February 19, 2011. During the festival, a wide range of cultural and arts, sports, tourism and carnival activities will showcase the uniqueness and latest developments of Sha Tin District. Residents are encouraged to take part in community activities to strengthen their sense of belonging to the community.

     The "Sha Tin Festival - Jockey Club FAMILY 3Hs Fun Fest" is jointly organised by the 2010/2011 Organising Committee of Sha Tin Festival, the School of Public Health of The University of Hong Kong, the Family Council and the Sha Tin District Office, and sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
