At the invitation of the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council (THEC), the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, continued his visit to Taipei in his capacity as the Honorary Chairperson of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council (ECCPC). Following is the transcript of Mr Tsang's remarks at the media stand-up session after his visit to the National Palace Museum today (August 29):
Reporter: On the visa arrangement, is the Government ...... waiving of the visa discussion or just waiving of the visa fee?
Financial Secretary: This is a question that I answered in all three languages. I have done it in Cantonese, I've just done it in Mandarin and I shall do that again in English. Whatever issue that is of interest and that is of benefit to Taiwan or Hong Kong, we will take an active interest in it and we will pursue it.
