Special traffic arrangements for Tam Kung Festival

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements tomorrow (May 20) and on Friday (May 21) to facilitate members of the public to celebrate the Tam Kung Festival in Shau Kei Wan.

     The following arrangements will be implemented tomorrow (May 20) from 5pm onwards:

(A) Road closures
 
1. A section of Oi Kan Road between Oi Tak Street and Oi Yin Street; and
2. A section of Oi Yin Street between Oi Kan Road and Oi Lai Street.

(B) Traffic diversions

1. Traffic on northbound Oi Yin Street will be prohibited from entering Oi Kan Road and diverted to turn right to eastbound Oi Lai Street;
2. Traffic on westbound Oi Lai Street will be prohibited from turning right to northbound Oi Yin Street;
3. Traffic on northbound Oi Tak Street will be prohibited from turning right to Oi Kan Road; and
4. Traffic on eastbound Oi Kan Road will be diverted to turn right to southbound Oi

Tak Street.

(C) Suspension of metered parking spaces

All metered parking spaces on Oi Yin Street between Oi Kan Road and Oi Lai Street, and on Oi Kan Road between Oi Tak Street and Oi Yin Street.

(D) Suspension of bus stops

All bus stops along Oi Kan Road between Oi Tak Street and Oi Yin Street will be suspended.

     The following arrangements will be implemented on Friday (May 21) from 7am to 6.30pm:

(A) Road closures

1. A section of Shau Kei Wan Main Street East between Factory Street and Tung Hei Road;
2. Tam Kung Temple Road;
3. A section of A Kung Ngam Village Road between Tung Hei Road and A Kung Ngam Road;
4. A section of westbound Tung Hei Road between Island Eastern Corridor and Mong Lung Street except franchised buses;
5. A section of eastbound Tung Hei Road between Oi Lai Street and the eastern junction with A Kung Ngam Village Road;
6. A section of eastbound Oi Lai Street between Oi Yin Street and Tung Hei Road;
7. Wang Wa Street;
8. A section of Factory Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Wang Wa Street; and
9. A section of Kam Wa Street between Mong Lung Street and Wang Wa Street.

(B) Traffic diversions

1. Traffic on eastbound Tung Hei Road will be diverted via Mong Lung Street, Factory Street, Aldrich Street and Chai Wan Road to A Kung Ngam or Chai Wan; and
2. Traffic on westbound Island Eastern Corridor heading for A Kung Ngam will be diverted via Nam On Lane, Shau Kei Wan Road, Chai Wan Road and A Kung Ngam Road.

(C) Suspension of Public Light Bus Stand

The public light bus stand on Kam Wa Street.

(D) Suspension of metered parking spaces

1. All metered parking spaces on Kam Wa Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Wang Wa Street;
2. All metered parking spaces on Wang Wa Street; and
3. All motorcycle parking spaces on Kam Wa Street.

     Vehicles parked illegally will be towed away without prior warning.
