Sham Shui Po food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Sham Shui Po to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises (´óÁú·ï), on ground floor, rear portion of 1A Wing Lung street, was ordered to suspend business from today (June 9) to June 22.

     ¡°In May 2007 and March this year, there were two convictions in respect of food preparation and storage in open space,¡± a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     ¡°A total fine of $2,800 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension.¡±

     He said the food premises also had convictions in January and April 2006 for the same offences.

     ¡°A total fine of $3,100 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from September 22 to 28, 2006,¡± the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
