The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (May 27) obtained three orders in the District Court against three employers for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $767,000.
The District Court issued judgments against Chun Wing (Hong Kong) Limited, Star Team Development Limited trading as Wall City and General Cargo Logistic Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA $405,471.57, $201,440.02 and $160,161.61, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 12, 33 and six employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendants to each pay costs of $930.
