********************************************************

Ballots were drawn today (September 11) for the Sale of Surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats Phase 2 to determine applicants' flat selection priority. The ballot drawing ceremony was hosted by Chairman of the Housing Authority's Subsidised Housing Committee Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung.

During the application period from August 8 to 21, 14,383 applications were received, of which 9,513 were White Forms and 4,870 were Green Forms.

A total of 3,255 flats in 28 courts are on sale in the current sales exercise including more than 1,000 unsold flats in Kingsford Terrace Stage II in Wong Tai Sin and Ka Keng Court in Tai Wai, as well as more than 2,000 returned flats scattered in various courts. (Also for sale are 16 flats in Verbena Heights in Tseung Kwan O developed by the Hong Kong Housing Society.)

Starting from tomorrow, applicants may make an appointment to view the returned flats as designated by the Housing Authority in eight different courts.

Detailed arrangements and notification for flat selection, along with the sales brochures, price list and other relevant information, will be mailed to eligible applicants in batches according to ballot results. The on-site show flats in Ka Keng Court and Kingsford Terrace will be re-opened to prospective buyers during the flat selection period.

Ballot results will be available later on the Housing Authority/Housing Department website (http://www.housingauthority.gov.hk). They will also be posted tomorrow (September 12) at the Housing Authority Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu, all public housing estate offices and Home Affairs District Offices for public inspection. Applicants may contact the authority's Sales Hotline (2712 8000) for any enquiries.
