The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) published the Hong Kong Energy Statistics 2005 Annual Report today (May 11).
2. The report describes the situation of energy supply and demand in Hong Kong. It contains comprehensive statistical information relating to different forms of energy, including oil products, coal products, electricity and gas. It also includes an overall energy balance which summarises the sources and uses of different forms of energy, and depicts their relationship in the energy transformation processes.
3. Major statistical information presented in the report include:
(i) list prices, storage capacity, tank stock, imports, re-exports, retained imports, unit values of imports and quantity of sales by type of users for oil products;
(ii) imports, re-exports, retained imports and unit values of imports for coal products; and
(iii) tariff charges, generating capacity, production and consumption by type of users for electricity and gas.
4. Annual figures for the years 1995 to 2005 and quarterly figures for 2004 and 2005 are provided for most of these statistics.
