Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive-elect (CE-elect), Mr C Y Leung, at the Legislative Council (LegCo) Complex this afternoon (June 18):
Reporter: Why are you coming over this afternoon?
CE-elect: I just used the brief lunch break to pop in to say hello to members of the Finance Committee of LegCo. And I know over the past couple of weeks, many people, obviously including LegCo members, have put in a lot of hard work to discuss and to raise questions about the proposed restructuring of the Government Secretariat.
I just wanted to pop in to say thank you to them, in particular the Chairman of the Finance Committee, and the brief visit was very cordial and I shall continue to do this to friendly engage members of the Legislative Council and to foster as best as I can a full and complete working relationship between the executive and the legislature.
