A variety of free entertainment programmes including Western folk dancing, an accordion music performance, a guzheng ensemble, a clown show and juggling performance, crafts and games stalls and venue guided tours will be held at the Yuen Long Theatre Christmas Fun Day from 2pm to 5.30pm on Sunday (December 18) for families to share the joy of Christmas.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, various programmes will be held at the foyer, the auditorium and the Theatre Avenue of Yuen Long Theatre. The venue partners, Chung Ying Theatre and Y-Space, will also perform a musical and hold a modern dance workshop. In addition, acrobatic artists will move around the venue for visitors to photograph.
To enable visitors to learn more about the facilities of Yuen Long Theatre, there will be guided tours at the auditorium. Visitors will be able to enjoy a fascinating stage experience when the backstage crew demonstrate the lighting, sound and stage hanging system. Guided tours at the function room will also be arranged and some classes will be open for public viewing and participation.
Not to be missed are family activities such as interactive play zones, arts and crafts stalls and games stalls at the Theatre Avenue. At the outdoor stage there will be Asian ethnic dancing by minority groups, acrobatic and roving performances, a ballroom dance and jazz dance performance and children theatre. A handicrafts DIY workshop will also be held at the Theatre Avenue for families to enjoy.
