Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, at a media session after attending the opening ceremony of Hong Kong Federation of Women T S Kwok Service Centre today (August 19):
Reporter: Mr Tang, there's been criticism that the security measures have violated freedom of speech as well as press freedom. How would you comment on that?
Chief Secretary for Administration: I think that is completely rubbish that we have violated civil rights, nor have we violated freedom of speech, because every single activity of the Vice-Premier has been covered by the media. We have taken due care to ensure the media get full access to all his activities. Therefore, we think we have struck the right balance. Thank you.
