HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
GENERAL SITUATION
AN UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE BROUGHT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
TO THE COAST OF GUANGDONG AND THE NORTHERN PART OF THE
SOUTH CHINA SEA YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS MAINLY CLOUDY
WITH A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WERE HEAVY
OVER SOME AREAS AROUND NOON. MORE THAN 20 MILLIMETRES OF
RAINFALL WERE RECORDED OVER MANY PLACES OF THE EASTERN PART
OF THE TERRITORY, AND RAINFALL EVEN EXCEEDED 50 MILLIMETRES
OVER THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF HONG KONG ISLAND. WITH THE
RAIN AREAS DEPARTING, THERE WERE SUNNY INTERVALS IN THE
AFTERNOON. A WEAK NORTHEAST MONSOON IS EXPECTED TO BRING
MAINLY FINE WEATHER TO SOUTHERN CHINA IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF
DAYS. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO TRIGGER SHOWERS.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE
WILL BE ABOUT 27 DEGREES IN THE MORNING. HOT WITH SUNNY
PERIODS DURING THE DAY. THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE
AROUND 32 DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF
DEGREES HIGHER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. MODERATE EAST TO
NORTHEASTERLY WINDS.
OUTLOOK : VERY HOT WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS IN THE FOLLOWING
COUPLE OF DAYS. SUNNY INTERVALS AND A FEW SHOWERS IN THE
LATTER PART OF THIS WEEK.
