ýÿýÿýÿýÿ Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long this morning (October 12) in which a 79-year-old man died.

ýÿýÿýÿýÿ At 7.29am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along Tai Tong Road towards Kam Tin. When approaching the junction of Ma Tong Road, it reportedly collided with a bicycle.

ýÿýÿýÿýÿ Sustaining serious head injuries, the 79-year-old male cyclist was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state and certified dead at 8.38am.

ýÿýÿýÿýÿ The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

ýÿýÿýÿýÿ Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
