Hong Kong Customs holds bilateral meeting with Thai Customs Department (with photos)

     The Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Ms Louise Ho, yesterday (September 4) met with the Director-General of Thai Customs Department, Mr Patchara Anuntasilpa, in the Customs Headquarters Building to exchange views on reinforcing mutual communications and enhancing co-operation.
      
     The bilateral meeting explored multiple issues, including enhancing collaboration in combating cross-boundary drug trafficking and various kinds of smuggling activities, promoting thorough intelligence and information exchanges, and strengthening training and exchanges of officers from both sides, so as to facilitate closer mutual co-operation.
      
     During the meeting, Ms Ho introduced to Thai Customs Department that Hong Kong Customs has been accredited by the World Customs Organization (WCO) as a Regional Dog Training Centre. With great responsibility assumed, Hong Kong Customs is committed to providing professional canine training and support for members of the Asia/Pacific Region of the WCO with a view to enhancing their canine professionalism and enforcement capacity, thereby safeguarding regional security.
