Caritas Medical Centre announces incident of water pipe burst

The spokesman for Caritas Medical Centre made the following announcement today (April 27) on the water pipe burst incident in the hospital:
A worker of Term Maintenance Contractor was drilling in a pipe room of a ward in Wai Shun Block at 9am. During the course of work, the water pipe was accidentally damaged and caused water seepage in some wards and corridors. The flushing water supply to toilets in some wards was suspended.
The hospital conducted immediate maintenance and cleaning. Urgent repair was completed at around 3pm and the flushing water supply has returned to normal. No patients or staff were injured in the incident and patient services were not affected. However, six patients were relocated from the affected facilities in order to proceed with the maintenance during the repair work.
The incident did not involve structural safety of the building. The hospital has reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
