Happiness and positive energy fills JPC@PH Fun Day (with photos)

     The Public Relations Wing of the Hong Kong Police Force organised the “JPC@PH Fun Day” at the Junior Police Call (JPC) Permanent Activity Centre on April 22 and 23 to share fun and joy with the public and enhance their understanding of the JPC@PH and the crime prevention work of the Force. Over 2,600 people participated in the fun day and had a great time with their families.

     Over a hundred police officers from different formations and police volunteers hosted various booths and exciting activities, including displays of special police vehicles and equipment to showcase the professional and diverse work of the Force, as well as mini-games to promote crime prevention and anti-deception messages. Participants also had the opportunity to experience many adventure activities in the JPC@PH, such as zip line, rope course, abseiling, mini-PH Race, laser gun shooting, bouncy castle, horse riding and newly emerged sports etc.

     The fun day also featured various performances and demonstrations, in which the performance by the Counter Terrorism Response Unit (CTRU) and the Police Dog Unit offered visitors the most unforgettable experience. The participants were also glad to have opportunities to meet the valiant CTRU officers and take photos with them as well as the brave and loyal police dogs.

     The Commissioner of Police, Mr Siu Chak-yee, and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Public Relations), Mr Chan Tung, met the public at the fun day today (April 23), during which they formed a team to compete with family participants in a newly emerged sports game-dodgebee. Mr Siu thanked the public for taking part in the fun day and expressed appreciation to the officers for their hard work, adding that the Fun Day had deepened public understanding of the Force and promoted harmonious family relationships.

     Located at Yuen Long, the JPC@PH was formerly a Fire Services Training School. Upon completion of the renovation works in mid-2017, the training centre was officially open on August 10, 2017. The JPC@PH occupies an area of about 29,000 square metres and provides various indoor and outdoor training facilities with more than a hundred hostel places.  It provides discipline, physical and team-building training for JPC members as well as training programmes for members of the Senior Police Call, schools and other youth organisations. The JPC@PH was converted into a temporary quarantine centre for COVID-19 in March 2020 to help fight the epidemic. Since June last year, it has resumed training use with new facilities, including the “Code Buster”, Hong Kong’s first and only physical escape-room game based on Hong Kong Police stories.
