The report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) emphasises that the "one country, two systems" principle is the best institutional arrangement for ensuring sustained prosperity and stability in Hong Kong after its return to the motherland, and must be adhered to over the long term. The report also supports Hong Kong to play a greater role in realising the national rejuvenation by developing its economy, improving livelihoods and better integrating into the nation's overall development.
