Transcript of remarks by S for Housing at media session
********************************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie Ho, at a media session after attending a radio programme this morning (July 23):
Reporter: How extensively can this be applied when building public housing?
Secretary for Housing: This is a good question. For what we called the Modular Integrated Construction method, it has some site restrictions and logistical requirements. If the sites are too small, too congested; or if the site is on a slope, or in front of a very narrow road, there are restrictions and constraints. To make use of the greatest benefit of this method, we have to choose sites that are substantially larger sites, and there are substantially more units that have this repetition. So that's the choices between the traditional and conventional construction method and this Modular Integrated Construction method. So we have to decide site by site and case by case.
