Government calls on citizens to truthfully declare positive RAT result as soon as possible
******************************************************************************************
The Declaration System was launched on March 7 for individuals who have tested positive by RAT to register their results on their own. As at yesterday (March 23), the CHP had received 390 340 effective submissions. Individuals who have completed the preliminary declaration must upload supporting documents through the link provided in the SMS message within 24 hours to have their submissions considered as effective. They will then be able to download the Isolation or Quarantine Orders issued by the CHP in accordance with the law.
The CHP will request individuals who have declared a positive result via the Declaration System to conduct nucleic acid confirmatory tests on a random basis (the compulsory testing notice concerned is at www.gld.gov.hk/egazette/pdf/20222691e/egn20222691324.pdf). As at yesterday, the CHP has conducted nucleic acid confirmatory tests on 11 992 individuals, amongst which 170 were sent to the Penny's Bay Community Isolation Facility for further observation and testing due to a negative nucleic acid confirmatory test result. As of now, the CHP has found one case of suspected provision of false information deliberately and has referred the case to the Police for follow-up with a view to considering taking appropriate law enforcement actions.
"In order to facilitate the CHP to grasp the epidemic situation more accurately as well as to provide more appropriate and timely support for patients with higher risks, it is of paramount importance that individuals truthfully report positive cases via the Declaration System without delay. The information submitted to the CHP can also serve as a formal record of one's infection and recovery in facilitation of other relevant purposes in the future, such as vaccination, sick leave arrangements and certification for travelling," a Government spokesman said.
As for getting COVID-19 vaccination, recovered persons may also make reference to the relevant records issued by the Declaration System to receive the corresponding number of doses and be exempted from the vaccination requirements of the Vaccine Pass within the validity period. The Government is also making relevant system enhancements, so that recovered persons with positive test results recorded in the Government's computer systems will be able to retrieve their recovery record QR code online at a later time. They can then add their recovery status to their vaccination record QR code.
