Service extension of various Community Vaccination Centres for early COVID-19 vaccination
*****************************************************************************************
Starting from Wednesday (March 16), the Satellite Community Vaccination Centre (SCVC) at Leighton Centre in Causeway Bay will extend its service, with an additional venue on the sixth floor to provide the BioNTech vaccination to persons aged 12 or above and will accept group bookings by schools for students of suitable age. Starting from 9am tomorrow (March 15), members of the public can make online reservations through the booking system on the designated website (booking.covidvaccine.gov.hk). No same-day tickets will be available at this vaccination centre.
The Pop-up Community Vaccination Centre (PCVC) at Wo Hing Playground, Lui Ming Road, Fanling, will be relocated to the 17th floor of Landmark North at 39 Lung Sum Avenue, Sheung Shui, from this Wednesday and extend service to April 30. The PCVC will continue to provide BioNTech vaccination to persons aged 12 or above. The reservations of affected persons will be automatically transferred to the vaccination centre in Landmark North with the date and time of vaccination unchanged. The affected persons will receive notifications via SMS.
Meanwhile, two PCVCs located at the ground floor lobby of Tuen Mun Town Hall, 3 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun, and the ground floor lobby of Sha Tin Town Hall, 1 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, which have commenced operation since mid-February, will extend service to April 18 and continue to administer the BioNTech vaccine to persons aged 12 or above.
The three PCVCs operate daily from 9am to 6pm. Members of the public can make reservations through the booking system on the designated website.
The CVCs located at the Hong Kong Central Library in Causeway Bay, the Hong Kong Spinners Industrial Building in Cheung Sha Wan and Millennium City 5 in Kwun Tong, are currently dedicated to providing the Sinovac vaccination to children and teenagers aged 3 to 17 and elderly persons aged 60 or above. Starting from Friday (March 18), these three CVCs will extend service to provide COVID-19 vaccines to all eligible persons aged 3 or above. The booking system on the designated website will also allow booking of these three CVCs by persons aged 18 to 59 from 9am on Thursday (March 17).
In addition, starting from Friday, all CVCs providing the Sinovac vaccine will distribute same-day tickets to children and teenagers aged 3 to 17, and elderly persons aged 60 or above. Fourteen CVCs providing the BioNTech vaccine to persons aged 12 or above (excluding four Children Community Vaccination Centres (CCVCs), and the CVC at the CUHK Medical Centre in Sha Tin and the SCVC at Leighton Centre in Causeway Bay which do not have same-day ticket arrangements), will distribute same-day tickets to persons aged 12 to 17 and elderly person starting from Friday.
Persons receiving the vaccination have to bring along original identity documents. If children's identity documents do not bear the child's photo, such as the birth certificate, then school documents (such as school handbooks) bearing a photo of the student must be presented at the time of vaccination.
For children and teenagers aged 3 to 17 receiving the Sinovac vaccine, they must bring along a consent form signed by their parents on the date of vaccination. Please use the following version of consent form (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/Consent_Form_for_COVID19_Vaccination_ENG.pdf). In addition, children aged 3 to 11 receiving the Sinovac vaccine must be accompanied by their parents/guardians in person when receiving vaccination.
Persons aged 12 to 17 receiving the BioNTech vaccine must also bring along a consent form of the following version signed by their parents on the date of vaccination (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/Consent_Form_for_COVID19_Vaccination_ENG.pdf).
Meanwhile, as the BioNTech vaccine for children requires a special dilution procedure, children aged 5 to 11 must receive the BioNTech vaccine at the four CCVCs and not at other venues.
