Official and social visits at Castle Peak Bay Immigration Centre and Ma Tau Kok Detention Centre of Immigration Department will continue to be suspended

With a view to ensuring the safety of detainees and staff, the suspension of official and social visit services of the Castle Peak Bay Immigration Centre and Ma Tau Kok Detention Centre will continue to be suspended until further notice. In consideration of the individual needs of the detainees, every detainee will be allowed to receive approved hand-in articles delivered to the Centre by his or her visitors once between March 12 and March 25. In case of urgent matters or enquiries regarding the categories or maximum quantities of the approved hand-in articles, the persons concerned may contact the staff of visit rooms of the respective Centres for follow-up by telephone.
The ImmD will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) and actively co-operate with the CHP's quarantine arrangements. The ImmD has also reminded its staff to pay attention to personal hygiene and stay vigilant. Staff have been reminded to seek medical advice and inform the department as soon as possible if feeling unwell.
