Two additional COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Stations to commence Friday
**********************************************************************
The MVS (Station No. 3) will first visit Tai Hing Estate in Tuen Mun on March 4 to provide Sinovac vaccination service. This MVS will be operated in the form of a container. Having been retrofitted for vaccination purposes, the container will be transported by truck to designated locations where it will be placed on the ground. The Station No. 3 will also visit Tin Hau Temple Fung Shui Square in Tai Po and Tin Yiu Estate in Tin Shui Wai to provide Sinovac vaccination service later this month.
The MVS (Station No. 4) will first serve at Tai Yuen Estate in Tai Po on March 4 to provide BioNTech vaccination service. Operating in the form of electric vaccination vehicles, Station No. 4 will visit various schools, dedicated to providing Sinovac vaccination service to students, later this month.
The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Patrick Nip, today (March 3) said, "After the commencement of the two additional MVSs, the number of MVSs will increase to four. We hope that with more MVSs, we can provide vaccination service to more members of the public in a shorter period of time, in particular for elderly persons and students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, so as to boost the vaccination rate."
He stressed, "The current epidemic situation is of grave concern. There are hundreds of thousands of cases that have tested positive for COVID-19 in Hong Kong. Hence, persons who are yet to receive vaccination should get vaccinated immediately, and persons who are eligible for a third dose should make a reservation and receive vaccination as early as possible. There are various channels for the public to get vaccinated, including Community Vaccination Centres (CVCs), COVID-19 Vaccination Stations at public hospitals, private clinics, vaccination venues under private healthcare institutions and the like. We will closely monitor the situation including the demand for vaccination and will make suitable adjustments."
Members of the public can refer to the designated website for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme for the service schedule of the four MVSs (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/List_Mobile_Vaccination_Station_ENG.pdf), which will be updated from time to time.
The procedures for receiving vaccination at the MVSs are the same as those in CVCs. There will be temporary waiting and resting areas at open spaces next to the mobile stations.
Only one type of vaccine is provided at the MVSs each time, i.e. the Fosun/BioNTech Comirnaty vaccine or the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine. Members of the public can receive their first, second or third dose of vaccination at the mobile stations.
The MVSs operate from 10am to 5pm. The last on-site registration time is 4.30pm.
Walk-in services for eligible persons are available. To reduce waiting time, prior booking through a hotline is welcome. The hotline for enquiries and bookings is 5193 0375 (from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, except public holidays).
Persons receiving the vaccination have to bring along original identity documents. If the identity documents do not bear the child's photo such as the birth certificate, then school documents (such as school handbooks) bearing a photo of the student must be presented at the time of vaccination.
For children and teenagers aged 3 to 17 receiving the Sinovac vaccine, they must bring along a consent form signed by their parents on the date of vaccination. Please use the following version of the consent form (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/Consent_Form_for_COVID19_Vaccination_ENG.pdf). In addition, children aged 3 to 11 receiving the Sinovac vaccine must be accompanied by their parents/guardians in person when receiving vaccination.
For persons aged 12 to 17 receiving the BioNTech vaccine, they must bring along a consent form of the following version signed by their parents on the date of vaccination (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/Consent_Form_for_COVID19_Vaccination_ENG.pdf).
The designated website for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/en/programme) provides the latest information including vaccination venues, reservation and enquiry hotlines.
