Acting Director of Home Affairs encourages community distribution of anti-epidemic support supplies by Central Government - rapid test kits (with photos)

The Acting Director of Home Affairs, Miss Vega Wong on February 27 presented support supplies from the Central Government - rapid test kits to the organisers of a community vaccination event held at the Tsim Sha Tsui Hall for free distribution to the participants of the event.
Accompanied by the District Officer (Yau Tsim Mong), Mr Edward Yu, Miss Wong visited the community vaccination event jointly organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Hubei Associations, Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Welfare Association and the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions, etc, as supported by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office.
Miss Wong officiated at the ceremony during the event, presenting to the event organisers over 10 000 rapid test kits as anti-epidemic support supplies from the Central Government. She expressed gratitude to the Central Government for the huge amount of manpower and resource support provided for Hong Kong when delivering her speech.
Miss Wong said, "The Home Affairs Bureau has already handed 1.8 million rapid test kits over to the Hong Kong Community Anti-Coronavirus Link (Link) on February 26. The rapid test kits will be distributed to locals with the help of the Link's volunteer teams and the district networks of the Home Affairs Department such as that as exhibited in the community vaccination event on February 27. In order to distribute anti-epidemic support supplies from the Central Government to people in need as soon as possible, the Government will continue to distribute rapid test kits to residents, cleansing workers and property management staff in relevant districts where positive results are detected in sewage surveillance. After the tests conducted during a restriction-testing declaration operations, persons who are tested will be provided with such kits for rapid tests."
Miss Wong also expressed gratitude to District Offices for organising various vaccination events, including the several ones to be organised by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office in the coming weeks in collaboration with different organisations that provide earlier opportunities for children, elderly persons and ethnic minorities to receive COVID-19 vaccination in the district.
