**********************************************************************************
The Companies Registry (CR) announced today (February 17) that its office located on 14/F, Queensway Government Offices (QGO) will be closed tomorrow (February 18) and will re-open on February 21, after a staff member is considered as a suspected case of COVID-19.

Customers are advised to deliver documents and fees electronically at the e-Registry (www.eregistry.gov.hk) or via "CR eFiling" mobile application, by post or deposit them at the drop-in-box on the deck floor of QGO.

The staff member concerned works in the shroff counter of the Document Management Section of CR on 14/F, High Block, QGO, and last worked in office on February 17. She has properly maintained social distancing with people in contact while performing duties. She has been wearing face masks and following infection control measures at work. Her body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening at work and she did not have any symptoms. She has no recent travel history.

The CR has arranged for all staff of the same floor to undergo COVID-19 testing and work from home until a negative test result is obtained. Thorough cleansing and disinfection of the premises concerned has been completed. The CR will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health in taking appropriate follow-up actions.

During the pandemic, the CR has been strictly implementing various infection control measures, including providing masks and other personal protective equipment for staff, and stepping up the cleaning and disinfection measures for the working environment. Staff members have been reminded to pay attention to their personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times, and advised to seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
