Hospital Authority announces staff members confirmed or preliminarily confirmed as COVID-19 cases

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (February 12) announced that the following staff members are confirmed or preliminarily confirmed for COVID-19 infection:
Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital | Three nurses and a supporting staff member |
Grantham Hospital | A supporting staff member |
Queen Mary Hospital | Two supporting staff members |
Hong Kong Eye Hospital | An administrative staff member |
Kowloon Hospital | A supporting staff member |
Kwong Wah Hospital | Three nurses and an administrative staff member |
Queen Elizabeth Hospital | Two nurses, an administrative staff member and two supporting staff members |
Robert Black General Out-patient Clinic | A nurse |
Haven of Hope Hospital | A nurse |
United Christian Hospital | A doctor, a nurse, a radiographer and two supporting staff members |
Caritas Medical Centre | Two nurses and a supporting staff member |
Princess Margaret Hospital | Two nurses and two supporting staff members |

Hospitals and clinics concerned have conducted contact tracing as required and arranged cleaning for disinfection. All related staff members had worn appropriate personal protective equipment at work. No patient has been identified as close contact so far. Since some of the above-mentioned staff members had been eating or chatting, etc. with other staff members without wearing masks, 26 staff members have been identified as close contacts. Arrangements will be made for them to be quarantined and tested as required.
In light of the deteriorating epidemic situation, the HA again reminds its staff to minimise social activities and avoid having meals with other staff members. Staff members should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment at work.
