Correctional officers stop assault on persons in custody

At 9.24am, a female remand person in custody, aged 48, attacked another two remand persons in custody, aged 33 and 25 respectively, with a plastic stool inside the dayroom. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the assailant and called for reinforcement.
The two victims sustained injury to their head and arm respectively. After examination and treatment by institution medical officer, both of them were referred to a public hospital for further treatment. The assailant did not sustain any injury.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The three persons in custody were remanded for the offences of robbery, theft and trafficking in a dangerous drug respectively.
