Fatal traffic accident in Tai Po

At 12.18pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by the 51-year-old man was travelling along Tolo Highway towards Kowloon. When approaching a slip road near Kwong Fuk Estate, the LGV reportedly lost control and overturned to the right.
The driver was trapped under the LGV and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, he was certified dead at scene. A 23-year-old male passenger also sustained injury to his hands. He did not need to be sent to hospital.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
