Hospital Authority announces senior appointments (with photos)

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointments today (November 27).
Dr Beatrice Cheng will be appointed as Cluster Chief Executive of New Territories East (NTE) and Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Prince of Wales Hospital with effect from May 1, 2021, succeeding Dr Lo Su-vui upon his retirement.
Dr Cheng is a fellow of the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine. She is currently the HCE of Cheshire Home, Chung Hom Kok, Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals (RTSKH) and Tung Wah Eastern Hospital. Dr Cheng is an experienced senior executive with substantial management experience both at the corporate and cluster levels. Prior to her current position, she was the HCE of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) and Tai Po Hospital from 2009 to 2015 and Chief Manager of Cluster Performance in the HA Head Office from 2006 to 2009. Dr Cheng has successfully implemented various service improvement programmes both in Hong Kong East and NTE clusters, such as setting up the day centres and Breast Care Express Team, expanding the scope of services of the Accident and Emergency Training Centre in RTSKH, setting up the Child Psychiatric Centre and establishing the Joint Replacement Centre in AHNH.
Dr Sin Ngai-chuen will be appointed as the HCE of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital with effect from April 1, 2021, succeeding Dr Man Chi-yin upon his retirement. Dr Sin is a paediatrician by background. He has also obtained dual fellowships of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine (Administrative Medicine). He is currently the HCE of Bradbury Hospice and Cheshire Home, Shatin and Shatin Hospital. Dr Sin is a seasoned senior executive. Prior to his current position, Dr Sin was the Chief Manager (Patient Safety and Risk Management) in the HA Head Office from 2016 to 2019. He was instrumental in the formulation of the corporate open disclosure policy and clinical incident management manual in the HA.
Mr David Mak will be appointed as Head of Human Resources (HR) of the HA with effect from December 1, 2020, following the resignation of Dr Pang Fei-chau in August 2020. Mr Mak is a seasoned HR professional. He is currently the Chief Manager (HR) at the HA Head Office. Prior to his current position, he was the Cluster General Manager (HR) in New Territories West Cluster. He has implemented a number of corporate-wide staff retention initiatives. Mr Mak also steered the HR Organisation Review to provide the blueprint and roadmap for further enhancement of the HR function in the HA.
The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulate all of them on their new appointments and wish them every success in taking up the new posts. Mr Fan and Dr Ko also express deep appreciation to Dr Lo and Dr Man for their dedicated service over the years and wish them happiness in the years ahead.
